Hi,

Just wondering how Microsoft got Sega and some old Nintendo games available for download? Do they buy the licenses?

Anyone downloaded/bought Sonic or some Sega games from XBox Live!? Is it 100% unchanged and just like the Sega version?

Sega released them onto the platform, Microsoft don't own all the games on the platform.

Sega gets moeny everytime you buy the game and Microsoft get there share as well, just like a retail game

And what did actually happen to Sega in the end? :/

Absolutely what Gav said, same with all the old Arcade games by Capcom/Hudson/SNK etc that are available.

Beyond that there's a sneaky conspiracy. The Dreamcast was actually related to the Xbox. Besides the obvious Peter Moore relationship - the Dreamcast also ran a version of Windows CE as it's OS and the integrated modem preceded the Xbox's Ethernet port with the intention of making internet play integral to the experience.

And none of you have downloaded and tried?

Sheesh, I thought being myadsl users you'd have tried everything in the beginning. I met one die hard user who had never even tried anything with online *rolls eyes*!

So what are the odds of Tekken becoming available on Xbox360? :/

Umm no idea... Liek I say I don't follow the retro games really.

I know a new Street Fighter is coming to the Xbox and PS3 though?

Tekken is not retro !

Possibly the best fighting game on any platform (am I stirring? ;) ...

I think Namco still develops exclusively for Sony? If Namco jumps ship and starts developing cross-platform then Sony will be royally screwed. They really quite a bit on the Tekken and Ridge Racer games being exclusively theirs.

Highflyer - By your reckoning, then Sony is pretty screwed ;)

Ace Combat 6, Eternal Sonata and Culcept saga are all currently 360 exclusive.
Ridge Racer 6 was a 360 launch title, and Soul Calibre 4 is multi.

And @Dolby - there have been rumours of Tekken 6 being multi platform out for a while. http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3156143

In terms of poor Sonic - both Sonic 1 & 2 are available via XBLA, I played the free demo's for a total of 5 minutes of nostalgia ;)

I *bought* Streets of Rage 2 :D

Raa***a

I wish they'd bring out a decent tetris for the arcade, one that pays homage to it's Soviet origins like that oldschool Nintendo version (with those little guys who came out and danced between levels)
