How do I backup all the Windows 7 Updates/Drivers I have installed?

I have just installed Win7 Ultimate x64 on my PC--and had to fetch a couple of updates and drivers from the net--I have everything working just fine now. I want to know how I could 'save' these downloads onto a disc so that when I need to reinstall I could just use the backup on the CD/DVD?

Any suggestions?

I'm also interested in this, googling away and there seems to be no clear cut method just yet besides Autopatcher ( which I don't like to use).

Reason for one downloading WAIK is because of the fact that the files needed for vLite are proprietary and Microsoft is quite iffy about these files being shared separately from the WAIK package. All that's needed from the WAIK is the WIM Filter(wimfltr.inf, wimfltr.sys and wimgapi.dll) for vLite to work and that adds up to less than a 1MB.

Eish! Guys, spare a thought for the windows noobie! This sounds hectic. Might as well just buy international bandwidth, and download the updates.
Does this mean there is no easier way?

Soz, didn't see that part of it. Gave up when I saw the file size.

There was another link in that forum, I didn't follow it though (looked like spam) but never know, could be helpfull.

Regularly (weekly) copy the files from Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Downloads folder to another folder on the PC and ultimately to CD\DVD whenever you have enough. These cryptically named folders contain the update files that can be run on a fresh Windoze install.

Ok we are getting somewhere--reminds of the apt to CD in Ubuntu; but how would I 'restore' under new install?
 
I'd never ever leave backup to a free app (unless I had disposable data).

All my systems run Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 (used to be called Acronis True Image). Workstation and Server versions.

Reloading and restoring different operting systems is now routine. My PC images run typically 12-20GB. The data (stored on a server, also backed up with Acronis) nightly backs up 155GB. The media assets (audio, video, photos) are simply copied to two different 2TB drive for backup as it makes no sense compressing them.

I couldn't live without Acronis. Worth every penny.
