How do I bypass local proxy?

yes guys. It would be nice to know how to get around it. I've tried proxifier but it no longer works. Couldn't get a public proxy working either. Its a squid proxy 2.6. Any suggestions?

No you can't get around it. Admins put proxies in place for a reason. They're not going to let you browse out directly - it will be controlled via the firewall.

I am not even able to go on to Google, but MyBB is ok????

Something does seem a bit odd then, raise the issue with the admins.
but if your network is even half decent u wont be able to avoid going through the proxy.

On a side note, most companies have some serious repercussions for proxy avoidance or not complying with company internet usage policies.

Its honestly not worth it.

Its actually not hard at all to get around.. and all you need is Putty and a shell account somewhere. You can almost 99.99% of the time tunnel out through a firewall.

I guess if you have an "any" in your firewall rulebase then ok, but if the admin has half a brain you wont get access he does not want you to have?

Not many admins limit where their ssh sessions go to.

w1z4rd please explain further. I know proxifier no longer works. What other ways can be used? Will the use of a public proxy do any good?

Then the admins are morons, by definition everything is denied except explicitly defined traffic.

Read my earlier post, most companies have policies against this kind of activity. Its not really worth it just to check someones facebook status or to youtube your day away.

Get a 3g modem.

If your firewall admin is a n00b then its easy to get around. No admin who knows what they are doing would allow any ssh outbound!

On my network nothing is allowed out unless there's a damn good reason for it.

+1

Sheesh.. bypassing a proxy.. yes that ALWAYS seems like a good thing to do at work...

When I managed networks there was always only ONE machine that had anything more than very limited access, and that was mine that was static IP'd etc etc.... and the rulebase was set to deny everything except explicitly defined traffic... (except of course the random youtube block, that would initiate at random times during the day and last for anything between 5 minutes and 2 hours :p )
