How do I connect to ADSL with Microcom router?

I've purchased a micorom ADSL router and to my horror after specifying the relevant encapsulation (pppoellc) and the VPI/VCI set to 8/35 respectively and entered the username and password....it didn't connect. The username is a WorldOnline one and all they could tell me was the encapsulation and VPI/VCI settings.

Anyone know what else can/must be configured to connect? :confused:

What modem model

Just make sure all in connected correctly. See if the connection led's for ADSL line is on, ie sync is reached. If its flashing there is no sync. Then put in CD that came with router. Select country (SA) flag and let it do its thing. When asked put in the correct user name and password and it should be ok. If not then test modem from inside webpage 10.0.0.2. If this fails you will have to contact ISP to confirm connection is made. Only once the router connects from its own test can we proceed to setting up the PC side

We then need then operating system and modem setup. Make sure the modem is not selected for bridge at first
 
Hi

It's definately not syncing as the ADSL LED's are always flashing. Is it supposed to sync automatically if the line has been setup correctly?

The ADSL is meant for the company so I changed the internal IP to 192.168.0.1 to become the networks gateway, when I used the CD and selected the SA flag and entered the username and password it failed as I think it's trying to connect to 10.0.0.2. Should I reload factory defaults and connect using my laptop and then set the IP to co-incide with the network?
I've got the AD 2656 - ADSL DeskPorte Router 400 USB.
 
Yes Initally You have to connect, press the return to factory settings for 10 sec. both the leds would go off, then flash for a while, the green led would sync and remain on the yellow remain flashing, the green will flash again for 30sec and if ok remain on, sync found OK. The yollow remains flashing untill the flag thing is done.

I have the same one on test. I do not like it as it somhow pins my MTU settings to 1480..... But stability and quality is excelent. I would suggest return it to factory settings. Connect to ADSL line through pots filter with nothing else connected (or direct to test sync connection). Switch on power to rebout router. The DSL link (green led) and DSL act(yellow) will flash. The DSL link green led will turn on continues after 10-20 sec . At this point if it does not then there is already a problem with line or sync. Post when You get to this point

Reset everything and made sure all interfaces were setup correctly and it's working. thanks for your help, without your steps I'd never have figured it out.

vista drivers

Hi anyone know where to get drivers for Microcom products for Vista 64 as the company dont exist anymore.I have a ADSL Deskporte Wifi router and it wants the USB drivers when i connect it.
