Kinda new to running my own business, so sorry if this is a stupid question.

I have a small architectural practice in KZN & work is a little...slow. I need a qualified architect as a partner ( im a technologist).

How on earth do i find a partner. I cannot simply put an ad in the paper, or could I? But then, u never get to know the persons real intentions.

Any help?

You never will in any case. Advertise for a partner. If they don't know you exist, then they can't find you.

A good friend of mine is an Architect working for herself - Joburg based. Dont know if it might help?

I would recommend you follow the advice of BDG2010. Just google freelance architect south africa and it should give you a list of them. Not all of them would be willing to go into a firm (freelance attracts more independant types) but you will get a few that is willing to discuss the possibility.

Alternatively I would recommend advertising in architecture trade journals/websites (if there is any).

Lastly you can contact a business broker, but those guys normally ask money in return for the service.

May I ask why business is a little slow? Maybe there is a way to increase your turnover without bringing in a partner? Marketing can be the answer to your problems.

Feel free to PM me if you want some free basic marketing advice.
