How do I play DoW II online?

I purchased Warhammer 40,000 Dawn of War II a few days ago. (through Steam)

However, I'm asked to register for a Games for Windows Live account. After registering and then updating, I was told that Games for Windows Live is not available in my country. (Not sure why/how it let me register then).

What can I do?

Henk just create a GFWL account under a country that is supported, such as UK or US, and you'll be set
