howzit everyone

i have a netgear dgn1000 router and i have mweb adsl

i want to restrict a few pcs on my LAn from using the internet access
how do i go about doing that?

Really low tech, but remove auto dns, and set the dns manually on those systems you wish to have access

Will not work for apps who use ip addresses

Best solution - install a dedicated firewall, such as Smoothwall or IPCop, and block everything outgoing.

Then you only enable the few you want to have external access either by MAC or IP addresses, or a combination of both.

Plus, you can filter out nasty stuff with URL Filter. Saves on bandwidth when filtering out ads and the such.

+1

This would be the best solution. Smoothwall Express is free and all you need is an old PC that you can recycle.

thanks guys
