How do I view WhatsApp .crypt12 files on my PC?

I done this some time ago for posterity. I have saved my WhatsApp chat history to my PC, extracting them from the WhatsApp database on my phone.

They look like this;



It's my understanding that the dated files is my chat history as it was on that specific day. Is there a way to view this on my PC? I know how to view it on my phone but it is a tedious exercise of renaming files, uninstalling and reinstalling WhatsApp.

Short answer: you can't. And anything you find in Google is probably going to be a scam, so be vigilant.

Only legitimate way would be to restore the back up on your phone.

I had a look at this and done further searching. It only works with phones that are rooted, allowing you to find the hidden WhatsApp decryption key in your phone's files. My phone is not rooted, so I cannot see the key and rooting my phone seems above my pay-grade.
