ad a slide show to an e-mail so that as soon as the recipient opens the mail the slide show plays without them having to click on it first?

No its actually the bosses b-day invite that i have to send out like that. (ppl in high places dont always know what to do with an attachment and i want to avoid phone calls about "what am i invited to")

Add a big bold line in the email explaining that the attachment needs to be opened or they will miss the party.

If you are talking about opening a Power Point slide show automatically when the mail is opened (presumably) in Outlook? Then I don't think this can be done, for obvious security reasons.

Why not screen shot each of the slides and make a big animated GIF, then in-bed this in the body of the mail and it _should_ play automatically? (Although I haven't tested this)

Jip this is what i want to do. Wont i need a special program to create a gif? i have coreldraw13 and i doubt it can do that...

no matter which program you use you will always get at least one or two security warnings before they can open the file. The above suggestion of an animated GIF is probably your best option. And if there is a way you can embed the GIF (using an HTML e-mail format, it might then play automatically. But you will have to then create the GIF and then host it somewhere, then embed it into the HTML email.

Your other option is to create a photo slideshow using the faststone image viewer stoftware (Free)...

http://www.faststone.org/

but this will also call up security warnings as the slide show is saved as an .EXE file.

woah... .exe extremely bad idea, worse security threat than most other file types.

I would recommend the gif option... I've been using ULead Gif Animator 5.1, you can create a gif frame by frame and embed it in the email...

Ja, that is why I also said the animated GIF was his best option. But I did lay out all his options for him.... and mentioned the security warnings. So your point is?....

ok thnx guys. i'll try the gif animator 1st and if that fails i'll just add the big bolded instruction and hope everyone knows what their doing
