No offices, can cut on overheads. Don't necessarily have to keep stock, just be able to get it within a week, etc.

Geez, but at like 0.9% margins is it worth it?

these oaks must hit volumes like mad I assume?

In-store, what are the costs for the employees to stand around all day, rent out the premises, the stock on the shelves that stands there for months, etc.

And who said anything about 0.9% margins? They're probably operating at ones quite a bit higher than that. And what are you comparing to get 0.9%?

What pc build are you looking at?

Thought you were only using laptops.

Large online shop gets volume discount? I seen on bidorbuy people(Online traders) sell Esquire product lower than cost price + vat.

At my old company we spent a big chunk of change on hardware.. We wangled Pinnacle's margin down to 1 or 2% on the hardware we bought.. They were happy to do so, because we consistently placed large orders.. 100k+ 200k+, sometimes more..

The more you buy, the more power you have to get better prices from Frontosa, Pinnacle etc..

I have a *massive* desktop computer when I say massive I mean Haf X, eATX mobo, 2x moerse groot GTX580 (the Asus ENGTX580 ones the 3 bay bad boys just too much.)

At the time Mac was very AMD friendly so I got a AMD FX CPU

Now I want to move away from bulky builds.

My ideal setup would be:

A small box
my SSD
my 2 x 4TB drives
Intel CPU ( i series pricing just seem and feel out of fcking proportion, but would like an i7 I suppose)
then DDR4 Ram
and then 1 small graphics card that can replace 2 x GTX580s
a new PSU

I worked for a company that imported mass scale printing equipment, the company had certain prices and once we got to a certain number of sales we got contacted from our Chinese exporters who invited us to visit. After a couple of trips to China they were giving us the equipment for half the price we were paying.

The Company decreased the price 5-10% less then competitors and we started making 90-100% profit on all machines.

I'm sure most retailers have similar contacts like Wootware with the price on the RX480 Red Devil its cheaper on their website then buying it off Amazon without the import fees.
