How do you buy telkom LTE data

On the bottom plan (labeled Tablet, and which is SmartInternet)), I can only see:

So my sim is a smartinternet sim with LTE data on it. Doesn't make a lot of sense. So there is no way to "convert" to a smartbroadband sim and thus I won't be able to add data on here?

If I cannot change my plan then how would I be able to buy more LTE data? When I go to all the sites you guys mention I get no option to buy LTE data at all

You go buy a Telkom prepaid sim, see if you can change it to SmartBroadband Wireless option, then put it into router, load R749 airtime to it via Internet banking/app, and buy the bundle.

Or else you can try Telkom support (shudder).

I don't know why telkom needs to make everything so hard

Well, at least no OOB and cheap data. So they have that going for them. You can pay more and get less bad (but still bad) service from VC and MTN.

The old saying was: You can't take the Post Office out of Telkom

Updated: You can't take the Post Office out of landline Telkom, and you can't take the landline Telkom out of the mobile Telkom

Haha good one, but yeah the LTE prices are pretty good. Ill just go into the store so they can sort this out. Thanks for the help!

I'm also new to LTE and also need to know how do I buy the R50 - 500 GB package next month.
Will this page onnet.telkom.co.za be available if I have no data for the sim in my router in the new month ?

First you need to be on a smartbroadband plan on your sim (vs say smartinternet).

Yes, it is accessible even if you have no data.

Thanks so after taking the sim to telkom they refused to help me change it to a smartbroadband plan, I finally found a phone that took the simcard and I switched to the smartbroadband plan.

I was given a B315 modem which I took down to the Telkom offices and asked them for a prepaid sim for LTE-A
I also asked for them to load the R50 - 500 GB data package as well as the Smart Broadband Prepaid 10 GB, 20 + 20 package which they did.
I take it my sim is now good to go ?

B315 Modem is only LTE AFAIK

Any way to buy data for a dongle without logging into the onnetsecure.telkom.co.za ?

How are customers who are not IT whizzes supposed to figure this out? I had the same struggle in July and eventually gave up since the conflicting information was so bad I had no idea what I was doing. The Telkom store lady had no idea at all. I purchased R600 airtime via the banking app and it lasted 3 days. Telkom said it had expired

Error message when trying to change tariff to smartBroadband.
I dialled *180#
Option 4 Tariff Change
Opinion 2 Change Current Tariff
Option 2 SmartBroadband Wireless Prepaid
Option 1 You have selected to change your tariff to SmartBroadband Wireless Prepaid.
Connection problem or invalid MMI code.

I give up! Waste of time if Telkom's systems can't even change a tariff plan.
I have never changed tariff plans before.
My tarriff plan is "Telkom More", prepaid SIM card.
Usually there's a limit to how often you can change tariffs.
I tried again and failed using USSD *180#, with phone set to 2G/3G, and I manually selected TelkomSA network to make sure Telkom simcard wasn't roaming on MTN.
