How do you find overwatch latency ?

To those of you who have played Overwatch how do you find it plays given its overseas servers ?
I am super casual so can't tell if it's skill or latency if I do poorly, interested with your views.

Played a bit last night on EU and my latency was between 170 - 190 which was not too bad at all. Only played bot matches though and didn't do too bad for my first try.

Bottom line, being an FPS game on international servers, you will ALWAYS be at a disadvantage because of your latency. Especially because its a very reactive game, requiring quick reflexes etc which to me is impossible with a ping over 80ms.

By the time you have fired your weapon, the person may have moved position. Not sure how their hit reg works, but chances are its server side which makes it even harder.

Hi, I agree that we will always be at a disadvantage but different games handle it to different degrees, from days of old having rubber banding to battlefield watching yourself stand still in a reply while someone comes round a corner and shoots you.

Overwatch doesn't feel or even in the replays look affected to a large degree but you get players like me who can chalk something up to a latency and/or skill combo or the really competitive people skilled crowd who I appeal to who can say with certainty just how well or badly they handle it.

TL;DR, I know there will be an affect but how badly it is depends on blizzard and I need to know how badly people who can notice find it.

BF had a really bad way of managing their netcode, which resulted in rubber banding with latency etc. Many other games, engine dependent too have gotten around this with better netcode to prevent rubber banding, but the latency aspect still exists. You have to actually try lead your shots by the same amount of latency to have an effect. Slower FPS games such as Squad can be played with higher latency as you arent trying to slap shot shoot somebody who just appears. The slower the combat, the easier it is to play with higher latency. the faster the combat, the harder it is. And Overwatch seems as if you need a low latency to keep up with the action.

latency is fine, haven't noticed much lag. still getting used to the ultimates, especially with winston.
