How do you store your camera gear?

I've set my mind on buying a storm case to store my camera gear when not in use. I have a couple of lenses so they don't all fit in my Camera bag (a lowepro sling 200) and am worried that they will pick up dust lying in a cupboard. I have a 28-135 with dust inside the lens (was bought like this 2nd hand) and want to make sure my other lenses do not pick up the same problem.

How do you guys store your gear?
Do you regularly use a blower to get rid of the dust?

My 40d is in one of two bags, depending on which lens I was last using. My 350d is only in a bag when travelling - the rest of the time it's on a flash bracket with a macro lens mounted so that it's ready when any interesting bug comes visiting (unless, of course, if my missus happens to be using it :)).

I havent got all that much gear so storage isnt a huge problem - its either with me or lying close at hand on the pool table.

You can always get the lens cleaned.

I had a blower but one of my kids used it to syphon her saliva out of her mouth (aka teething toy) so now rely on keeping a can of compressed air and a pack of rizzla handy.

Cleaning the front or rear element isn't a problem. I'm worried about dust getting inside the lenses and into the crevices of the the camera. Cameratek said its at least R700 to have the dust removed from the inside of a lens.

The Sling 200 is perfect to go on a trip. But I have other stuff too (I'm addicted to buying stuff I don't really need). The trekker is interesting. Maybe I'm a bit too fanatical about keeping my stuff dust free. *shrug*

Mine is all over the place. My rebel with 50mm f/1.8 is in the shorter one of my two lowepro toploaders. K1000 with all my Pentax glass is in my Crumpler Pretty Boy XXL. Sony T100 is in my bottom drawer (since I don't have a charger for it at the moment). Canon G9 is in my backpack that goes to work with me every day. My 70-300 is in one of my drawers (I hardly use it) and my Sigma 10-20mm is in the box it came in sitting on my shelf, since I don't have a camera to put it on at the moment.
