Does any body have any idea how you go about switching from Telkom to Neotel?

Do you need a new "line" to be installed?

Do you need a new handset (maybe digital?)

How long does it take?

Will my home phone number change (I'm just curious about number portability here)?

Will Neotel have a "range" of phone numbers?

Have Neotel started taking orders (of home users wanting to switch) yet? I'm aware that Government and some big businesses have already signed up, but what about home users and small businesses?

Thanks,
_H

I currently get around 3.2Mbps with Telkom, so until Neotel can offer me something better for cheaper, I'm staying with Telkom.

Sorry, which one of my questions are answered in that article? Incidentally it prompted me to post.

It appears numbers are portable and there is no distinct ranges for Neotel.

Someone talked about "coverage" ... I'm gathering Neotel uses some kind of wireless technology? Yes I read the article and still did not assume that the service is provided wireless just because the handset has got an antenna - I currently have "wireless" handsets on my Telkom physical line (ie the copper wires into my house).

You have a wireless hanset ie. line --> base set--> handset. Neotel = No line, only handset.
