Ok, so I sound very dumb, I guess, but I'm going to ask anyway.

I know how dialup works. But now I'm going to get a laptop and I want to go 3G on it for my internet. But I don't know how that works.

Do you just stick that datacard into the slot and boom! you're online? Or is there some weird and wonderful setups that needs to be done like there is with ADSL?

And while I'm asking dumb questions, how does wireless work, considering there's nothing you plug in? Do you find a service provider and then... how do you set it up? If you're on a laptop and in a wireless zone, that is?

Sorry for asking stupid questions, but at least I know I'll get an answer here.

A simple way to look at it is that you dial into a Vodacom tower just like when you make a call. So you plug the modem in, software will open, you click the connect button & thats it

Obviously you need to select a package or bundle that will suit your needs
