I don't get the slow speeds lately... I haven't been capped, yet for the past few days, and today in particular international bandwidth is non-existent and local bandwidth is poor.
I have looked at SAIX's noticeboard, but there doesn't appear to be a current issue, so what is going on? What I don't understant is that when I use my dial-up I am able to browse the international sites. Does this mean that a certain amount of bandwidth is assigned to ADSL users in total? How does this compare to dial-up users? I just don't figure how I get international b/width with dialup but not ADSL...
Which also raises the point: what is the cap helping??? I would expect ADSL at its WORST to perform as well as a dialup.
Any explanations would be appreciated.
BTW. Thanks to RPM for the excellent letter he has sent to Telkom. The questions asked relate to the least you would expect from a service provider - especially a Service Level Agreement (SLA) - that Telkom get away without these minimum criteria is shameful. No competition = no worries = no service = Telkom.
