how does Amazon Prime work

Prime video is worth it through US prime only and VPN as you get VR content (which is only YouTube and Prime video that offer true VR content ) if you have an Oculus (definitely recommended) . SA version very limited to prime originals and a few decent old series and movies . If your regions get confused then you will get loads of Bollywood movies and prime originals only waste of time unless Bollywood is your vibe .
 
Had Prime for a while. No good movies on the SA site. If you get VPN and have a US account to pay from you can watch US Prime and have access to a lot

Any way to unconfuse the regions? All the Bollywood stuff is no use to me...

Either sign up for prime via primevideo.com if you don’t use a vpn . If you are using a vpn sign up to US prime via Amazon.com using a US address whilst your US vpn is activated .

Pretty sure i did sign up via primevideo.com. It was a while back now, but how else could I have signed up if not using a VPN?

Also, if you remove the region confusion, does that just remove all the Bollywood content but the rest of the content remains the same limited stuff I have right now?
 
I get Prime by mooching off a family member. Watching Wheel of Time. It's good. Also watched some documentaries which were okay.

Yeah - my dad is a prime subscriber in the US. He doesn't even use the video, just has it for the free delivery.

I have done 4 different scenarios and attached screenshots

1st picture is US account with my US redirector

2nd picture South Africa prime video account with US redirector on . Note the Bollywood movies that come up as spotlight you also can’t find jack reacher or work war Z in search

3rd picture South Africa account with US redirector disabled shows the proper movies starting with jack reacher , mr bean etc

4th picture Us account with Vpn disabled showing correct content by when clicking on movie says unavailable in your country.
