provide 30gb etc accounts, how do they do it? multiple 3gb accounts? own radius server?

ok this is not 100% on topic but what is a radius server?

This is something I've often wondered about in the past, but never got around to making any real enquiries - it may be opportune to post the question here, though -
Before the local proliferation of ISP's, many businesses/organisations were faced with issues of authentication on access to their networks, and presumably went the route of implementing their own RADIUS servers, whether through dedicated black-box devices or otherwise. Is this still the case, or have most opted for reliance on their provider in this regard? Do you know of any non-ISP organisations that run their own RADIUS servers/devices?

I will have a radius server for cross server authentication, between nukecap proxy, vpn and "insert secret project here" soonish :)

Yup, but I see you as a provider. I'm interested in finding out if there are - well, let's call them 'user organisations' with an ICT department - that run their own RADIUS servers...

mbs - aaah.. ye that would be interesting, but most of them use exchange(*** forbid) for some of radius functionality.. So in a sense, there is loads of these companies.

Hi Clipse,

Besides your product (talk about that separately)

I have 512 : 3GB adsl - storm as ISP.

My kids could play games all weekend and holidays, but they can't - CAP.

I always reach CAP and now have 2 * R240 accounts.

What you think of axxess ??? 30GB sounds quite attractive ?? too attractive

Any other suggestions ??

hey.. Id say 30gig from whoever priced right.. axxess / webafrica, or uncapped for R780 inc vat from www.isoftnet.co.za

All 3 mentioned companies seem down to earth and ready to do business.
