How does Discovery Vitality 70% off Virgin Gym work?

I have Discovery health and I need to join a gym again, doing it at home isn't working.
How does Discovery Vitality 70% off Virgin Gym work, what do you have to do to get the 70% off?

Teach me before I sign my life away with a Virgin contract, geez those salesman are pushy, there's a promo expiring tomorrow, no sign up fee so you save R1100 or thereabouts.

Subscribe to Vitality at about R300 a month and you can get 75% off. There’s also a Vitality subscription at R99 a month that let’s you get 50% off.

Dont waste your time its a SCAM! You don't get 75% off the normal virgin active membership, but off the vitality gym membership, which is almost double the normal one. For example, signing up directly with the club is around R600, while with vitality its R1,080, so you end up paying the same at the end of the day if you take the monthly cost of gym+vitality.

Dont waste your time its a SCAM! You don't get 75% off the normal virgin active membership, but off the vitality gym membership, which is almost double the normal one. For example, signing up directly with the club is around R600, while with vitality its R1,080, so you end up paying the same at the end of the day if you take the monthly cost of gym+vitality.

Surely that can't be the case, the 75% is off their standard advertised rate?

Not in all cases.

My gym fee was R500pm. I went onto Vitality (R305pm) and now pay R167.50 for gym.

The R167.50 is 25% off my new gym fee, so the new gym fee is R670. Hardly double the previous R500.

I save R27pm/R324pa *and* get all the added benefits and discounts from being on Vitality.

Best to ask around and confirm. I have only been using these things for the past few months.

if you have a viva gym near you AND FNB account you can get a 1 year contract for 40% off,
think you also get vitality points there, and none of this BS with their weird rules.

You go to gym? Nice. I’ve never fancied you as the gym type.

Viva gyms are so few though. Nothing near where I stay except the usual Planet Fitness and Virgin Active with their expensive fees.

I phoned them this morning and this was their feedback, otherwise it doesn't make sense why I pay R270 while in the gym at least 4 times a week.

So if you go to the gym at least 36 times a year, you should be getting 75% off? Mine works to similar saving +/R40pm, which I see as false advertising.
