Nokia has this function were you can view your gallery items (Pics, mp3s and Vids) via home network. When you select an item in gallery , press options .then the first option is "Show via home network" Can someone please explain what this is and how it works... Thanx:D

AFAIK, its a program they give on the CD in your box which installs on your Windows machine and then allows you to share files easily between PC and phone.

Cool yes, but would have liked support for Windows File sharing which is available by default on PC's, including Linux and Mac. There is third party app to do that though.

name of that app?

Eish, don't know the name of the software, it comes in the box of the phone and I last saw it 2 years ago.

But I have now found out that its actually uPnP protocal which is great as you can the use uPnP servers and clients to communicate with the phone.

I just installed mediatomb and can now see and play the media of my PC on my phone. Schweet. Now just finding a client to do it the other way around. This is on Linux but there is Windows clients and even hardware devices like XBox, PS3 and routers.

Mouks, to connect you go to Tools->Connectivity->Home Media and it will then start a wizard. Of course, you will need uPnP server to connect to or a uPnP client on your PC to connect to your phone.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, going to have fun with it :D

Not sure, don't have PS3 but check out in settings to see anything about uPnP or Media Sharing.

Then you should be able to see the content on your phone on the PS3. I assume you have heard of ps3mediaserver? Same technology but thats a server which then allows you to stream any content from your PC to your PS3 and I assume also to your phone.

yes i'm using ps3server at the moment. Havent played around with the setting yet coz it took me awhile getting it right once it worked I just left the setting as it was. The function to stream mkv files to the ps3 doesnt work properly tho. plays a min or 2 then just freezes. could be my pc specs dont know..
