I only ask because I sent a cancellation form that I got from their website to [email protected] as I was instructed to do in order to cancel my services.

I sent the email on February 1st and never heard anything back from Telkom about it.
This morning I got the following email:

Your message

To: Service Cancellation
Subject: Service Cancellation - 011 391 4986
Sent: Monday, February 01, 2016 1:51:08 PM (UTC+02:00) Harare, Pretoria

was deleted without being read on Friday, April 01, 2016 10:45:16 AM (UTC+02:00) Harare, Pretoria.

So I called 10210 and asked them why my cancellation request had been deleted without even being read. I was told it might have been an error, send the request again. So I did.

At 12:40 this afternoon, I again received a notification saying that my email had been deleted without being read.

I see no reason at all to call 10210 again because, I was informed that the cancellations department don't accept calls and anyone I speak to isn't going to be able to address this issue.

Where do I go from here? I have no idea how to cancel my service since Telkom is actively refusing my cancellation attempts.

As a result of such active refusal, my account is now behind for March and they've billed me for April as well. That's 2 months worth of bills that I don't feel I ought to pay for given that I requested on 1 Feb that my service be cancelled. I'm happy to pay a notice period as is probably terms and conditions but after March, I shouldn't have been billed at all.

Take the form into a Telkom Direct store, their online methods for pretty much everything do not work.

Welcome to the club...

I have documentary evidence (emails and responses) that they received my written cancellation. I refuse to pay a single cent more for the service as I followed their own instructions to me to cancel. If I have to go into a store to cancel I will charge them for my time.

With the proof you have I would just stop paying after the months cancellation has been paid. But also you must have stopped using the service at that time.

They sent me a cheque for around 6 months of payments eventually. Didn't think it was worth risking my credit record over their incompetence.

I'm in the same boat. Cancelled my account 1 Feb... Called twice to cancel, and was assured someone will call me back to assist, and I'm still waiting.
