How does one format a stiffy in Windows XP?

Make sure all your cables are plugged in correctly and that your stiffy drive has power.

GO into the BIOS and make sure you have the stiffy enabled.

If non of the above work go to a museum and trade your drive for a working one.

The one that I want the disk working on? That's a P4 with an Intel D850MV mother board. I could create the disk on my AMD too. It does not matter. I just want to know how to put some files on the stiffie.
 
Go to your command prompt and type in "format a: /q"

You can also try the /? switch for a list of all available switches.
 
HAHA. I think SA is the only place in the world where its called a "stiffy". During an interview in UK, I was laughed at when I did, but they still gave me the job.
