I went through this twice in the past year. For a telephone line they ask an installation fee (approx R700 or something). If you move your line they do not charge a fee (provided there is already a line into the house I assume). Anyway the process for me to get the line took approx 4 weeks, and other 2 weeks after that to get ADSL on that line. With the moving process it was just 2 weeks to move the ADSL line to the new location (they actually had both running at the same time, so I installed in the new location before I moved in). Nevertheless, just phone them and tell them about your plans and they will guide you as required. Even better, get someone like Web Africa (use them as your ISP and ADSL provider) and they will interact with telkom for you, saving you a lot of hassle!
