How does the first bill work?

So the Telkom dude has just put my phone line in. I am phoning tomorrow to set up the self install ADSL. Does anybody know how much my first bill with Telkom will be and when they send the bill?

I am guessing it will contain:

1) Install charge of R330
2) 2 x R112 line rental
3) 2 x R154 ADSL line rental

I am guess that I will come early next month? Anybody have any experience with this? Thanks!

It depends how long the self-install takes, it could only appear on next month's bill.

I was in a similar situation, and on my first bill I had a pro-rata line rental, and line rental in advance for the next month, but the adsl wasn't active yet so that wasn't on the bill. Should be getting my next bill soon, and I expect it'll have the next month's line rental, pro-rata adsl for this month, and adsl for next month.

Oh, and your first bill isn't necessarily in a month's time - it could be six to eight weeks.

I hate paying the second month in advance. MTN does that as well. In the end you pay more...
