Ok guys up to a few months ago i was getting about 9 mb/s on telkom speed test and my line was nice and stable, then i notices it dropped to 7 mb/s so checked my modem and sync rate dropped to 8mb, now last week it got even worse and now i'm lucky to get 3.5 mb/s on telkom speed test. and now my modem sync speed is 6 meg. i have phoned telkom and been told as long as it syncs above 6megs there is no issue according to them. how do i get back to a point where i can actually stream a showmax series again because all it does now is buffer every few seconds, its beyond frustrating.

thanks a mill guys.

You're attenuation is extremely high, with a lot of errors, open a line fault with telkom.
Every time your SN Margin goes below 6dB your line will drop and resync, part of the ASSIA system.

i have a few times now and according to them 1. there is no problem with my line and all is normal and 2. they wont replace or repair copper anymore, my thing is they cant tell me when fiber will be available
in my area, so how can they not replace copper?

Have you tried a back-up modem? Have you tried disconnecting all devices from the line and plugging the modem in directly?

Report a voice line fault to Telkom. Tell them there's noise on your line. Don't mention ADSL in the fault.
