How does VOIP on Telkom fibre work?

I don't know how VOIP works but I think you plug a wireless handset into your Telkom Fibre router and make calls? If I'm right, does Telkom have something like this?

if you signup for fibre with telkom you can opt to have your calls delivered via the fibre line and not have to port or change your number for approx R100.00, on the back of the fibre router there are two phone jacks that you plug your analogue phone into.

only go this go this route if you have a calling plan or a need for a calling plan from telkom, if not there are much better deals out there as far as voice is concerned.

Bit off topic, but are you saying it's possible to use a normal phone over VOIP, only if your router supports it?

Yes, or you could buy an ATA (costs about R300-400) which does the same thing
