How easy is it to install an additional HDD

Exactly, the whole point I bought an SSD.

You will need to reinstall with Win 10 Pro on the SSD (Correct me if I'm wrong?). Assuming you still have the key used for your Win10 Pro installation...?
 
SATA is pretty smart from the bios side, you do not need to worry about any pins or anything like that.

If windows is already on the primary HDD/SSD, you should be able to plug the old drive in without any issues at all and go about your merry way.

Depending on the GPT/MBR which may or may not exist on the old drive, you may need to select your SSD as the boot device in the BIOS. If it just works when you turn the machine on I wouldnt bother mucking about in the BIOS as a selector screen

Yea sorry wasn't aware it's an SSD. I have the same setup.

The License Code or KEY should be on you old HDD under system properties.

My Computer, System properties on the bottom where the genuine mark is should be your product key.

Well it still worked like that on Windows 7. Haven't used Win10 yet no idea if it's the same.
 
I you install Windows 10 Pro on the SSD and use the same Microsoft account you used previously it should activate no problem even if it's a new PC.

Is there no registry entry with it in?. Old PC is dead.

Wootware installed WIN 10 Home on the SSD, the boot drive. My old PC boot drive has WIN 10 Pro. I want to install this drive on the new PC as I still need the data on it, but would like to upgrade WIN 10 Home to Pro on the new SSD.


OR

I can use the WIN 10 Pro key from my own PC to upgrade Win 10 Home on the new PC. Will that work?


Gave this some more thought. It's the wifes PC, she will hardly use ane of the features of WIN 10 Pro. Going to run it on home edition for a while, and see how she likes it.

Boot from old HDD with Win 10 Pro use media creation tool to create a bootable usb to reinstall W10 Pro on SSD
I had to use they original key for Win 10 or in my case oem Win 7 key.

Uhhmm, dont think so. Old PC is fried, and not a single driver is compatible. Dont think that is such a good idea.

Use the ssd then and just use key that was used to upgrade from 7 to 10 and create media for a different pc using media creation tool
