In terms of redoing the driveway...

Before you spend money... decide if you want to keep the house, or you want to sell....

If you want to keep, then you do the finishes to the best standard you can justifiably afford, if you're selling then do the finishes to a decent standard, but don't go overboard.

Thing is it can only go out (pool in the way - the gap between pool and house is 1m ...)

There are other rooms around it - and then absolute final is upwards which is seriously expensive. If it had a larger lounge, I'd live here and look after the place.

Have you investigated Roof Rooms as a concept, they're not as expensive as you might think, and they can give you lots more space for a relatively minimal investment.

Sell.

I've decided.

The driveway is stock red clay brick - nothing fancy. I also think it'll add more than R20k worth to the house ... as it's the first thing you see when you enter

If you're selling, and redoing the ENTIRE driveway.. go cement brick, they're cheaper and will last about 5 - 10 years before needing to be replaced.
