How exactly do you go about getting a replacement smart ID card?

I lost mine and want to get a new one, but seen a lot of confusing information and nothing clear. Anybody able to give me a guide would be much appreciated.

Well, depending where you are you can go to some banks and get it (in Gauteng) but since your profile lists no location, for now we can only say go to a home affairs.

Depending which bank you are with you can then register, book for that branch and pay with that bank.
