I think the Linux guys are pretty accurate.![]()
LOLThe images are correct but the perception of what counts is wrong.
Mac is shown as a baby pc - well that's true - it's easy to use and just works. The Mac Pro variants have superior h/w to non-workstation Windows variants and those workstation variants cost the same as Mac Pros (Dell's and HPs).
The image of Windows with all those stupid pedals, screens and monitors is actually childish. It's for gamerz, guys who play gamez on their PCs and see the value of the OS as how many gamez it can play. Bearing in mind that most PC gamerz only play a handful of gamez and that the widest variety of gamez is on consoles (prolly PS2 if you go to any store) you will question the sensibility of many Windoze Gamerz OS fans. Of course some gamez don't run on consoles - those pesky strategy gamez - but oops they natively run on Mac OSX or and they can be run in Bootcamp anyway. Mac and a console = gaming covered. Windows is ok in general, and sometimes it's necessary but the fanboys here are mostly just gamerz and want most economy for the buck - but what for? To play gamez. Unless they're game developers or game editors for sites/magazines and earn their money that way - they just want economy to waste time and money. Mac users don't usually buy machines for gaming - they buy machines to get work done, and they may end up paying a bit more but they're investing in a productive endeavour not gamez.
Linux is an enthusiast OS but if you know how to use it and have the right tools, it's great. It's also FREE.

Macs are great
That it is, .. its a lot more than that as its a lot of things, it almost runs most of the world big corporates, is on most of the worlds top super computers and runs most of the Internet. People are very enthusiastic about it... because its the best at what it does. Macs are great for making pretty pictures.
Interesting factoid, while some people might try down play the game industry.. its bigger than the movie industry.
No, when I meant enthusiast I meant that it's an enthusiast level OS. It's for people who want to go the extra mile to learn the in-and-outs. I have 2 prosumer level cameras - the manuals are terrible. They're full of settings and diagrams but they don't explain how to do anything or even switch the device on - they just say ND Filter 1/64 toggle switch - turns on the ND Filter 1/64. That's it. You have to know what you're doing or you'll just let the thing lie there. In contrast consumer (non-Enthusiast) level cameras are easy - they explain every function and usually what it's for. That's what I meant. Linux is sadly at that level. It also has a shortage of apps. Unlike Linux Mac OSX has tons of excellent apps, you can do entirely without Windows. You have your choice of FOSS and commercial apps.
Well its certainly bigger than Hollywood.Do you mean Hollywood? Did you include TV as well? Do you also include the rest of the world's TV and movie and direct-to-video productions as well?
I dig that oke holding up the money, i bet he is laughing inside when he sees what people are willing to pay for a mac.

Just pointing out mac by far makes more money because their mark up is through the roof.
They found a market for more expensive = better, highly intelligent and making them tons of cash.
So good on them for figuring out you can make a fortune selling things expensive and low quantity than cheaper and high quantity.
Awesome stuff. Likes those okes who pay 2-3k for jeans just to say look at my 3k jeans. The jeans more than likely cost 50 bucks to make.
