How Ford tests its locally-built engines

Ford has put its locally-made engines through no less than 1,300 hours of rigorous testing to ensure dependability.

My 5 year ownership with a FORD the engine was pretty reliable ( had the injectors changed under warranty when I kept getting a check engine light), but that Powershift Gearbox is what is a major let down they should test that more and fix that.

I actually thought that they would use the 3.0TDi from VW seeing that they are going to build the new Amarok

Haha, Ford built tough my arse. Tow companies are going to make a killing with the new Fraud Ranger.

I assume they stress test them under conditions accurately simulating those that would be encountered in everyday South Africa... drive them over a strategically placed rock on the freeway and then set them on fire?
