It sounds like a Terminate-stay-resident style hypervisor for the operating system, like ye olde boot sector viruses for DOS. Now, what software exists to determine whether Windows XP is running under a hypervisor ... ?

MS charges big bucks for supporting that. Why is it a headache for MS if they get paid for it? LOL.
