If anybody can help me that would be great, I've finally got my line last week from telkom and decided to let my ADSL be managed by MWEB, which I now know was not the best idea. Anyway its been 9 working days since I've got my username and password from mweb, Telkom told me my line is up and running as soon as my order has been processed by mweb. This was on Tuesday, thursday I get a message from Telkom saying my line is good a few hours later a message from Mweb stating my order is processed

Tuesday night I get home to test the line and Nope, nothing. Keep getting the following message on the router " Your DSL connection is down. Verify that your TG589vn v3 is correctly connected to your phone line. If the problem persists, check your documentation."

I verified it was not a router problem and followed the appropriate troubleshooting steps to no avail. It has been a week and half since I was first told my line would work by mweb and Telkom and nothing happened. Yesterday i started getting annoyed by this because Mweb keeps telling me it should be fine then it isn't and Telkom barely replies or does anything

So obviously I start complaining at mweb and then they tell me Ill have to sit and wait for telkom to do something theres nothing else I can do, jeez hows that for trying to get something sorted.

If you pay your ADSL line rental to Mweb, then hound them and refuse to terminate the call until they sort out your account. You are paying them to do it, so they must honour their side of the contract.

Excuses, excuses... they are all good at using a plethora of lies to keep you believing that it is never their problem. Keep pushing them. Hourly. Until they get gatvol and actually do something.

Try my favourite acting dumb approach. Phone Telkom and ask nicely to please resync your line. They will ask you to switch off router for a few minutes then tell you when to switch on. Works everytime. I'm also with them and Mweb.

Followed this advice and got a the following answer

" Telkoms turn around is over a 7 working day. If they have skeleton staff over weekends will they work on exchanges."

I'm guessing I wont have Interwebs this weekend.
