I know we've got so experts here...

How much of this stuff do I need to add to a stew to get a mild/medium spiciness? Do I remove the pips?

Bean recipe with approximate 3 cans worth of ingredients volume wise.

And please don't screw with me here...would prefer not to ruin a bunch of food. :o

I like hot food and find the pick n pay Thai chillies quite mild. Maybe 6 out of 10 with the seeds. Remove them and you will be fine using 5 of them in a curry.

We frequently buy these: Jalapeno chillies go great on pizza - lekker sweet mild ones. Thai chillies 4 rating is a bit ambitious, I would give it 2 out of 5. Put about 3 thai chillies for 3 can beans, no need to remove pips. I would put 8-10 or so, but I have chilli-genes.

Keep the seeds, but they're not that hot. They will have a bite but it will go away fast.

Grind up chilli seeds and add the oil to your youger brothers "skin lotion".

Did OP died? :p
I did yes - cut my finger whilst prep'ing the meal. Still stung 24 hr later.

Ended up using the 3 Jalapenos and no Thais. Nice balance between spicy & tasting the rest of the food.

So how was it?
Will be doing that dish again - decent taste and wicked fast prep time. So great success for a bachelor.
