How in the world is this possible?

So my friend is looking to buy a PC for BF4, one of the guys he knows is selling a PC and he loaned it to my friend, but when he installed BF4 he got 40-50FPS ON LOW with a 6990 (a dual GPU card)? How on earth is this possible when my GTX 460 gets ~50FPS on high?


Specs:

120GB SSD (good health)
250GB and 1TB HDD
AMD Phenom II X6 2.8GHZ
ATI 6990 4GB with 14.4 drivers
8GB Ram
Unknown mobo.

On paper that GPU dominates mine, so what is going wrong? Surely the CPU isnt a bottleneck.

Because it's a business card. Also, nvidea optimizes drivers for games, extremely on the bf4 series. I get around 45 fps on ultra bf4 with a gts440

Edit: also, what are your specs? Pick have 16gb ram on trichannel with an i7 CPU helping out graphics. The graphics card is not solely responsible.

How can you say a 6990 isnt a gaming card, it was once the fastest GPU in the world.

6990 is 100% a gaming card.

After some reading I see that the beta drivers have the latest xfire profiles built in. Rather try those.

Best gaming card in the world at one point, it hasn't been that for a long time.
