How is iConnect as an ISP?

Hi all,

Our fibre in our are is going live in a week or two, and in general I've made up my mind to go with Cool Ideas as ISP. However, iConnect is giving us some great specials in our area that has to do with security cameras, which would allow our local security companies to monitor our streets.

Now I would like to contribute to the community, but as a gamer, I am quite particular about service levels and price of the service, not to mention that spiky latency is definitely not on for me.

Is anyone currently on iConnect? Do you game? How's the latency and down-speeds during peak hours? What are you paying per month and what package are you on? How's their customer support?

No Idea, but curious as to how you came on them iConnect ? - Google ?

What area are you in and what network do you have(vuma,openserve)
 
I am currently using them for the last 6 months and to date there has been no issues.

They somehow approached another Resident's Association near to our area and gave them the security camera deal. Someone from our area's RA (Little Falls/Strubens Valley), approached them and asked if they would be willing to make us a similar deal. I'm still waiting for the particulars to see if it's worth it.

This is on Vumatel (technically Fibrehoods, soon to be known as Vuma Aerial) only.

Something I'll only get from this forum, is honest feedback from people that are/were using them as ISP. Apparently we'll have some community meeting with them on 29 July, and I'd like to have all my ducks in a row before then.

These offerings will only be valid to existing customers not new orders so keep this in mind folks, Vumatel acquisition.
 
Been using Iconnect for about a year now on my 20/10mb line and I pay R1100 for it all, download close to 680 Gigs per month, no major issues apart from what I am battling with now. But overall they are pretty good, very friendly and happy to help where they can cause in the end you still need to deal wth Telkom for acuisition.
