did these ppl smoke crack before announcing this

The company made headlines last year with the acquisition of the Yournet client base and again with the incorporation of Internet company Rumba.

Zazu spokesman Francois Joubert says Zazu had made a decision not to participate in the “all-you-can-eat” hype around ADSL.

“There are companies whose entire client base is built on high-end ADSL consumers who from November this year will not be able to afford the almost R2 000 for 30 gigabytes of traffic on the new Telkom tariff.”

“Our target market has always been the responsible home user. We will be the first to bring affordable ADSL to the home user market.” The Zazu Internet and Rumba offer is brought to the market at R149.00/month for 1GB.

149 for 1 gig thats rubbish

once again i will state!!!!

TELKOM has not made an official anouncement yet.

If they do we can nail them to the wall.

Spoke to a accounts lady at telkom and she said that something along those lines will come into effect but she cannot respond to it officially and cannot respond with regards of the statement being 100% accurate

They are using this method to reduce the amount of ppl that are standing up to them!!!!

What a rip off!

When you buy and download a song does it doesnt really cost Telkom or this ISP anything more than 0.0000001 cents, so why should they get such a MASSIVE a cut? (at R149 per gig they would get 60 cents for a 4mb mp3 that you already paid for, more than what the artist would get! (excluding all the browsing to get to the song! ))

Due to people like Zazu Telkom can do what they are doing. They are simply ripping off their clients and clueless pople support them.

Well id go with what zazu says, they have allways been given some prior info, thats how they usually undercut other ISP's with cheaper options way back with rumba/zazu doing 56k.

I presume they have been given the go-ahead allready and that Telkom will be doing this, altho I hear also that 3gig accounts wont have local caps and the topup will apply to buying more international bandwidth. ie. 3gig account, local and international count to the 3gig cap, same as it is atm. if you get capped, international is dead as it allways has been and then you buy more gig's to get more international access.

The point is this, if someone dont stop Telkom, it seems like harsh reality that this will happen, if the local uncapped as explained above is true atleast, then only people with these R199 30gig accounts will feel they need to pay more, the usual 3gig users wont be affected it seems.

Anyone using a non standard 3gb account (5gb-30gb) will be adversely affected by these increases.

I'm surprised the likes of Axxess, WA, et al havent been making a noticeable fuss. They've been used by telkom and are likely to suffer the most.

They wont make a fuss because they stand to get more money from us - just like Telkom.

We just crack whores and they the pimps.

They ISPs are not our friends - just a business out to make money.
