Both consoles run on x86 architecture so in theory it should be way easier to emulate than the PS3 and XB360.
From what are heard
Both have 8 core CPUs but only 6 cores are used for games
Both have 8 gigs of RAM, PS4 has 5 gigs dedicated to gaming XBOne has around 4.5 gigs
An Issue might be the way the RAM Integration on both Consoles
Another major Issue as far as PS4 goes is the GDDR5 RAM which in a couple of years we should start seeing overclocked DRR4 RAM reaching similar speeds to the speed of the PS' GDDR5 RAM
