I have to admit to feeling thrilled and privileged when loadshedding comes and the inverter kicks in seamlessly with nobody even noticing. However, how long can it last being the only house on the hill with lights? When will the hordes notice and do something about it?

If it's a problem, then keep the outside lights on normal power so they go off, while still safe with the night vision from your CCTV showing what is going on, and use blackout curtains for rest of house.

They've actually already done something about it.. they 'equalized' electricity supply, same salaries as previous people - prob even higher - but unable to maintain output.

I've had 8-10, 15-17 and now 23-01 today.. hulle het Eskom mooi deur hulle gatte getrek, verander my opinie. LOL!

Your question Mr Smith, is certainly not only academic, according to some.
