How long does BIS take to activate?

On MTN. I handed in all the documentations at an MTN branch yesterday. Not activated yet. I hope it is going to be activated today!

On an upgrade you need to wait until the next billing cycle. Also rememeber that you have to phone them in order to activate BIS

Not true. They activated mine in the middle of the month and charged me pro rata for the first month and it was activated within 24 hours.

The lady told me it would be activated within 24 hours.

Mine was activated after 2 weeks, they never switched it on the first time round. When I went to the shop they fixed it quickly and it was on in about 1 and a half hours

Just recently did an MTN upgrade. Was told 24 hours. It didn't happen. I called 808, and they activated immediately ... took about 30 mins after the call for the BIS to activate. This is your best bet.

Wait til you get the message saying it is activated. They told me to wait "until the edge became EDGE" and then it would be ready. Not so. I used my whole contract amount in one day browsing before the BIS was actually activated. Anyway, once it's up and running, it's awesomeeeeeee
