I bought a Virgin mobile starter pack yesterday and I was very
much impressed with the starter pack, compared to the last starterpack I bought which was a vodacom 4u starterpack for R200, its a bargain! (I mean free lanyard etc.)but I'm having trouble with my sim.

My sim has still not been activated correctly... I'm able to receive
calls but not make any, i've also recieved my wap settings but if I check my prepay account balance I get a "subscriber locked" message.

I've called the sort me out center 123 from my mobile a few times but I have not received much assistance.. I'm always told to wait...
Ive waited 24 hours! (which is unacceptable IMO) and still nothing.

I'll admit, I made a mistake when I dialed the *124*mobilenumber# to activate my sim (I mistyped my mobile number) when I tried it a second time I was
told that I was already registered... could this be causing the delay?

I've mailed Carmen Doyle and Gerald Terblanche already(got the address from Piesang's post) but since i'ts sunday I'm not expecting much... hope this will be sorted by tomorrow

I had the same problem initially. Could receive calls but not make any. It was a Saturday morning and they fixed the problem within about 3 hours.

Call them again and tell them it is unacceptable having to wait more than 24 hours for you to use your phone properly. Insist to speak to a supervisor.

Otherwise hellopeter.com

Got the best response after using hellopeter.com, still took a few days though.

Thanks I'll heaad over to hellopeter rather,
I dont wanna answer the same dumb*** questions all over again at 123, I dont think they'll be much help anyway...
I have given up on call center's, there hopeless in SA

They at least gave me R100 free airtime because of all the issues they gave me.

At least they answer there calls rather quickly, not like Vodacom Customer care who leave you with a phone glued to your ear for 20-30 min.

Agreed, they do answer rather quickly

Anyway my Sim is working nicely now, they sorted everything out by 08h00...
using Data now, but no Edge Coverage only GPRS, I'll test my vodafone data card for 3G later
edit: Got Edge Coverage on Cellc :)
