According to this article South African's are spending up to 59 hours per year sitting in traffic. How long is your daily commute each way?

My worst commutes were from the midlands in the UK to London 3x a week - 2 hours each way, and driving across Manhattan from New Jersey to Long Island every day for a summer job - up to 2.5 hours each way.

20-25 minutes each way .... , so 40-50 minutes a day, both ways, depending on how many idiots are on the road, doing stupid thoughtless acts.

I WFH. There are many days when I would like to commute. Before WFH, my commute was around 50 minutes each way.

It took me a minute to drag my ass and my laptop from the bedroom to the patio. Then I realised I had forgotten to make coffee so I had to go all the way back to the kitchen. 5 minutes.

My last 2 years working in Cape Town CBD commuting from Gordon's bay was HELL. Between 90 minutes to 3 hours one way.

I feel your pain. Between 1 hour and 2 hours to the office, but averaging about 80 minutes. When I go home and traffic is light, 30 minutes.

WFH currently, but prior to that, about 8 - 10 minutes each way

It was fine for years. I was using the Business Express for about 4 years which was great at first (1 hour each way and the Golden Arrow bus 1 hour 15 minutes each way). The trains became so unreliable and the N2 just over congested. Eventually I started leaving home at 9am to get to work before 10am and then leaving work at ~7pm just to avoid the madness. And when there is a big accident on the N2... you sit like a fscking nana!

School commute can get busy - the school is like 5 minutes away, but once inside it can take another 15 depending.
My kid is trained to tuck and roll out the car, I barely slow down in the drop off zone if I can help it.

Sounds familiar. I rarely leave the office before 18:00. I don't even bother trying the N2 past the R300 in the morning - I rather take my chances with the N1.

Starting to wean my colleagues off having me available every day of the week - started working from home once a week.
