A friend is buying a car (finance involved) from a private seller (has finance) and it's taken over 2 weeks - with a possible further week!

How long does this process usually take? It sounds long to me.

He mentioned 10 days for a Natis document (to mention one delay)

A private deal should take no longer than any other, unless they are having problems clearing him on the finance side.

I presume the car HAS been settled first...?

His finance is done and dusted ages ago.

And all he wants is the car - but I'd never even heard of a Natis document before ...

Tell him to be careful. If they are hassling over a Natis document it may have been stolen and recovered...be very careful.

Private deals usually take a day or 2, its the dealers that waste ur time!! Some in Bs'ing you!

The finance for your bro wants the original Natis. Usually a their finance place will only release it about 10 days after the account is settled. A copy of it and maybe a letter from sellers finance should be sufficient for buyers finance.
