How long will SAPO keep a parcel.

I have a parcel due in the next couple of days, but I wont be able to go fetch if until after the 24th. How long will SAPO keep it for me? Isn't it like 21 days?
 
They send out 3 notices. I've had one where they kept it much longer than the claimed 3 weeks.
 
3 weeks then it gets RTS. I found this out the hard way, I've got two PoE cameras sitting at JIMC on its way back to China
 
I've had a parcel that was sent back to sender before I received the first notification. The parcel was in the postoffice for 3 weeks before it was sent back.

I've recently queried with the Post Office whether a parcel had arrived as I had been advised on what date it was sent, but received no notification of receipt from SAPO. They told me they no longer send out notices.

Odd, ours does. Just received one last week.
 
If you have parcels that come in from other countries and have tracking numbers dissapearing, since the SAPO doesnt assign new local tracking numbers, you can always email these two ladies:
Lindsay dot Hopley at postoffice dot co dot za
Debbie dot Oppelt@postoffice dot co dot za

just give them the international tracking number and they will tell you what needs to be done

**Edit : Damn, they are quick. Popped off an e-mail, got a reply within 2 mins.

Pleasure, I use them all the time to track stuff that the boss brings in and then he gets impatient about the wait :P

This speeds up the customs process because 90% of the time they just want a copy of the invoice.

Ok, pretty much all they said was that it is in JHB, but that is all they can tell me.
 
I am in the same situation at the moment. I emailed the lady mentioned above, but sadly no response since last week :(. I also tried 2 other email addresses I found on mybb, but no response either.

I have tried calling every contact number I could find online and it just rings and rings and rings. I even tried my local post office and they cannot help me either.

Does anyone have any other idea on how I can find out where my packages are?
