How many devices can be connected to Rain R250 Sim simultaneously？via Wifi
 
How long is a piece of string?
No hard limit on their side,but you might feel it on your side
 
I thought there is a certain number of devices one may connect to ISP.I remember Iburst and telkom adsl had fine print on the number of connection many years ago.

Thats a pppoe connection count or a hardware limit,not the serviced devices

Yes

But like the guys above said it's also limited by your hardware. If your router can only service 4 devices at a time (random) then you'll be limited to that

You can do way more than that. There is no limit. The limit is based on the hardware like how many wifi can connect but lets say you plug it into a network with 100 computers they will all connect. The connection will be shared though so if you get slow speeds on the router then it will get slower if more and more people use data.

Thank you. I would assume my B618 router can service more than 7 devices simultaneously.

Technically yes, usually up to 32 or 64 devices depending on hardware. Realistically though, no, since rain does a pretty bad job at load-balancing that if 2-3 devices use the connection more than lightly at the same time, the entire network has a chance to tumble until all idle again. As long as you avoid doing that then you can connect all, but if you connection is super great (low ping, 30-50mbps range) then that chance lowers significantly.

Just to clarify: When you use a modem/router with your rain SIM inside, only one device (the router with the SIM in) is connecting to rain.

Other devices connected to the modem/router's wifi are not connecting to the rain SIM - they are connecting to the router and use its one connection to rain, and the limit there is determined by your router's wifi, not the rain SIM. If you connect twenty devices to your router's wifi, as far as rain is concened there is only one device connected to their network: the modem/router. All the wifi devices upstream of your internet connection are sharing the single internet connection with the rain SIM.
 
Rain seem to limit the number of tcp connections through the uncapped LTE

We found that more than 6 people on one connection you started getting packet loss...
The problem is these days every device keeps so many connections open for push services etc

I tested this by running it through a vpn and it worked perfect, and tested it in 2 different cities.
