how many monitors do you use, and if more than one does it actually increase your productivenessess ?

i only recently started with 2x; must say it feels allot better for example running win7 on the one and XPM on the other, but not sure if it exactly increases the output.

All the devs here at work have 2 standard screens - works well, and productivity is certainly better. At home I use 1 widescreen monitor - with W7 it works well, and I adapt my style to each setup. I do enjoy 2 monitors though...

I normally like to develop with 2 monitors, that way I can use my test client / Web browser and still keep my eyes on my IDE

What does "develope" actually mean? Is that akin to "eloping" with a "developer"? In that case, my wife would've been the one to "dev-elope"... :p

I have a Samsung 2333 that I use, but will gladly accept a second one of those.
I find it strange that, having upgraded from a 15.4" laptop where I lacked a "bit of space", now suddenly I want even more space.

2x19 inch @ work, 1x22 inch at home.

Anyone who has even worked on an AS/400 (or iSeries) will tell you that having dual screens is a must! The ability to have production on one screen and development on the other is brilliant!

I use one monitor.

I code a lot and then methodically test.
I did try the 2 monitor thing, but the second monitor was just a distraction.

Seems that I can only do 1 thing properly at a time.

My desktop has 2x19"-wides on it. Then I run two laptops next to it linked together with Synergy effectively giving me 4 screens on one KB and mouse.

And it definitely improves productivity significantly. If you have ever worked with more than 1 active app at a time then you need at least dual-head to be efficient.

At home it's a 24" puppy which is nice enough - in the office it used to be a 17" together with the laptop screen...which is okay for having a query window open on one or a remote desktop connection / virtual machine when debugging client apps.

I still prefer the bigger screen option though and I think a 30ish" would probably be the best...just a pity that the office is too cheap to buy a 24 incher or something for us poor sods there.

2 x 17"'s at work, and 2 x 22"'s at home.

Trying to get it to 4 atm actually. (both at home and at work)

i must i've grown addicted to the 2 monitor setup; got two 19" yesterday and its just so good :D

Currently running a single 20" LG, but really looking at getting a 24" Sammy as a primary and keeping the LG as secondary. My dream would obviously be a nice 30" but that is jsut unrealistic...
