How many phones do you own?

So I recently got the S3 coming from an iPhone for years. Now was eagerly trying to sell the iPhone 4 and then I stopped and wondered why, I still love it, it is still a great device, why sell it?

Wife thinks its ridiculous to own more than 1 phone, but I think fsk it, why not? :p

Do you own more than one device? Do you swap around when you get bored?
 
I was collecting the older Sony Ericssons at one stage.
Started with the T610 then the K750, K800, W910, AINO, then came Android, went for the HTC Desire, got the S2 for the gf and now the RAZR is my main.

It got a bit much so I started giving them away to family members so now I only have 4 left including my RAZR.

lol ok, so I shouldn't feel to bad having 2 phones :p
 
Keep it dude. Always a use somewhere and you lose so much on resale anyway (unless less than a year old).

I still have my old HTC Touch HD, HTC HD2 and HTC Desire HD phones.
HD2 is my flash phone for mucking about. Desire HD is a dedicated car phone and nav. Also looking at a bluetooth to FM transmitter to enable playing music from the Desire HD on the cars radio.

Had an S2 but sold that quite new to fund the purchase of my Note (current phone). Getting the Note 2 at the end of the year and plan to replace the Desire HD in the car with the Note 1.

Tablets... same story :)
 
I've got three phones in service and one is a collectors item.

Samsung Galaxy S2 - main phone
HTC Wildfire S - backup phone with twin sim. Prefer to take this pocket rocket with me when I go out.
Samsung Galaxy Ace - landline. Got a R90 a month 8ta contract that gives me lots of landline/8ta to 8ta minutes & instead of paying R110 Telkom line rental each month, I actually get a free new phone = Win. (I swopped my iPhone 3G for the Ace)

And then I have the original black Motorola Razr in its original box....this phone was just the coolest thing I've ever seen, so bought one and now keeping it for the memories.

That's the main reason putting me off selling it, the price. You get a handful of shrapnel for it compared to what it cost when it came out. I am thinking of just using it for games and mucking about on it.

Just doesn't seem worth selling it.

lol, reminds me of the old Sony Ericsson T28, I wanted that phone so bad, I would probably buy it today just for the memory and to say I finally have one :D
 
3 in active service this side:
- Work, SGS2
- Private, BB8520, (immediate family only, guard the number like its the crown jewels)
- Operations, a cheapy Samsung something with 10 days battery life, (I belong to a volunteer emergency service so receive call-outs from my Control on this one)

Inactive service:
- Erickson 628 (dead)
- Nokia 3310 (dead)
- Nokia 5220 (alive still)
 
2:
Nokia N73 (voice & text)
Samsung SGS (data only)

100% correct. If your phone gets stolen, water damage, etc. see how much you will pay to get a replacement that can perform the same functions as the one you had. I'd keep it, just in case.

haha....I always feel a bit nostalgic about a phone that was a game changer. Guess I didn't really need a Galaxy S2, but just had to have one because of the Engadget review for it. :)

You are right, replacing a phone will end up being a pain and costly in any event. Also, I have a micro sim, so I should it get watered damaged lets say, I would need to trek to get a new sim for a older phone, where as if I have the iPhone I can chuck it in there.

It almost doesn't seem worth selling 2nd hand electronics these days unless you are desperate for the cash OR not a tech junky like me :D

lol MickeyD you could start your own cellphone stall in Spar :D
 
A big selection (about 20 something) in a cupboard mainly from other people. One brick from 1989 weighs 3.3 kg and used to work in England. Has extendible aerial like an old transistor radio. Battery is kaput though.

I only have one, my HTC Desire S.

Some people I know have like 4 cellphones with them at all time, madness!

Samsung and Sony are now starting to sell dual-sim phones, so we might see people using only one or two phones in the near future.

This old Fergussen phone from the UK about 1989 has a charging cradle in which it rests, with a huge transformer (no switched mode chargers in those days). I used the transformer, which is rated at 300VA, for a mains conditioner. The battery has 24 cells, I think it used quite a bit of power transmitting, so was wasteful of current. Alas it got wet in a flood, so really needs throwing away. I offered it to the MTN museum at The Waterfront but they already have several
