It's a free mod for Half Life 2 check it out if you want to play something a bit different.
You play as a survivor and have to complete various objectives to win a game, or hold out and survive a set amount of time by barricading rooms (depending on map type), by moving furniture around and hammering boards over doors and windows. Zombies have to kill survivors who will then become zombies themselves, and there is a special zombie called "Whitey" (it is white by comparison to the others) which can infect survivors, who will turn into zombies after a while.

There was a local server which is now gone, due to lack of interest I presume, so you will have to play on an international server with a ping of 200-400, but I manage like that.
I'm hoping there is enough interest to get a local server back up again.
