How much bandwidth does Skype actually use up?

I used skype video call yesterday to let my folks chat to her granddaughter - must have been connected for at least 10min if not more - 50megs...i was expecting the 3g to die as i ran out of data! Still got 260megs available...now that i use cellc at R75 for 500mb much better than vodacom at R160 for 500mb!
