Just curious about a well known SA band such as Prime Circle or Parlotones - how much would they charge per gig?

My friend works in promo's. Parlotones charged 180k for just under an hour and apparently that was a bargain.
They also had a disgusting list of things they required in their contract.

Apparently DJ Fresh is pretty "cheap" relatively speaking (finding out how much he charges now)

 wow do they get booked much? It could end up being a stupid question but anyhoo :D

I wouldn't pay 1 SA Rond to see the Parlotones.

If I wanted to see a tranny whine like a little girl, I could find that cheaper I reckon :D

I know Kurt Darren asks R60 000+ per show.

I suppose they need to pay promoters, managers, technical guys etc etc and still divide the cost between the band members (with, I guess, lead singer gets most?) - and then tax on the income.

I guess R170,000.00 doesn't come to much more than R15,000.00 per gig - though not bad for an hours work ;)

ja for Parlotones I had heard R135,000 for an hour. Probably more than that now, and R40,000 an hour for a man-man-show seems to be normal.

I heard Shaun Morgan from Seether charged R25k for his solo acoustic shows he did here a couple years ago

That was a while ago. I am sure now it would be pretty pricey

who knows. I suppose for the bigger gigs like jozi day they charge less? What bothered me was what i was told about their contract. tons and tons of stupid requests.
If i was in a rock band it would simply be beer, vodka, rum, mix and hot dogs

Per person, probably close to that, but i am just speculating.

It sounds pricey, but you can make your money back on it quite easily. And if its a corporate thing, then i suppose they tax write it off.

As for fresh, i asked and the corporate stuff is around 37k for him. I am sure a club gig would be a bit more, but i think he is worth every cent. He brings in the crowds and creates an awesome vibe!

I don't know where I heard this or if it's even true, but apparently the parlotones get something like R30 000 a month salary. remember with sponsorship they also get cars and probably a ton of other crap. They probably also get a percentage from record sales etc.
